Culture

The Gold Coast is on Greenwich Means Time (GMT) +10hrs or Eastern Standard Time (EST).
Weather
The region enjoys a subtropical climate boasting an average 300 days of sunshine per year and mid average temperatures.
GST Information
Australia has a goods and services tax on purchases (10%) but you may claim this and the Wine Equalisation Tax when departing our shores.
Travellers to Australia need a valid passport or similar certificate of identification. Everyone, except travellers with Australian and New Zealand passports, requires a visa.

Getting Around
Bus

Train
Trains do not run along the coast but they are an excellent way to reach the Gold Coast from Brisbane. It takes only one hour by train from Brisbane to reach the Gold Coast. For more information on routes and timetables visit the Queensland Rail website www.qr.com.au

Gold Coast Airport
Distance to conference venue: 22.8 km
Driving directions: North on Gold Coast Highway to North side of Surfers Paradise along Ferny Avenue to #158.
Alternate transportation:

Bus service fee: 18.00 AUD (one way)

Brisbane Airport - BNE
Distance to conference venue: 85 km
Driving directions: From the Airport follow the signs for the Gold Coast on the Gateway Arterial Motorway. Take the South East Freeway (M1) exit to the Gold Coast. Exit at Southport via Smith St and follow the signs for Surfers Paradise. Turn right at the Gold Coast Highway intersection and after approximately 4 km turn right at Palm Avenue and then right into Ferny Avenue. The resort is approximately 500m on the left hand side.
